New Production
GRAVITAS new for 2008
Earthfall, the multi award winning Cardiff based
dance and physical theatre company, are in constant demand throughout
the UK and Europe for their captivating performances.
GRAVITAS is based on the phenomenon of imprisonment without charge
and the censorship of words, resistance and action.
Earthfall explore the paradox of freedom of speech and the nature
of power and protest. With all their trademark ingredients of
live music, film, heady themes and ironic humour, the choreography
journeys from the perilous to the poetic.
This is Earthfall at their most profound and cutting edge.

Earthfall Education and Outreach
programme…
Earthfall have a well-developed education team with highly
skilled and experienced tutors. As part of our education and
audience development programme we can offer workshops of half
a day or a full day. We also run residencies, where workshops
can be combined with live music and/or video and projection
work, voice and movement training or character based work.
Our residencies also provide opportunities to create in house
performances.
Each workshop provides the unique chance for young people to
learn new and relevant skills. The workshops can link to the
core syllabus of a student group or can be designed to complement
an existing project you are working on. Our training can be
especially beneficial for students who have an interest in
literature, drama, music, dance and performing arts, or for
those who would just like to experience something new and exciting.
NEW PROJECT FOR 2007/8 Welsh Haka
‘Gallwn Farw, Gallwn Fyw’ ‘ I will die, I will live’
A Welsh Haka project devised through dynamic workout days for
young rugby players
This will involve a combination of extreme physicality based
on a multitude of movement forms, including Martial Arts, Street
Dance, Acrobatics and Physical Theatre.
For many years it has been an ambition and strength of Earthfall’s
to inspire and promote dance amongst men. Their brand of highly
physical theatre suits male performers and can stretch the
boundaries of what is commonly understood by most general public
of what dance is. This has meant that Earthfall have been in
a unique position to challenge boys to break their stereotypical
idea of what dance is.
Earthfall and Creation Development Trust in conjunction with
Ynysawdre School have put together the outline of what we believe
to be a hugely exciting project involving Dance, Rugby and
Boys.
