Bruce Chatwin’s book, Songlines, was the springboard for Earthfall’s work Nomads, based on the choreography of restlessness, wanderlust and nomadism. Nomads was a high energy, physically confrontational work that was the first collaboration between Earthfall and the virtuoso cellist, Ben Davis, who later formed Mercury Award winners, Basquiat Strings. Roving Super 8 film was used extensively and projected throughout the performance space including the performers’ skin. The Earthfall dancers also played live music within the choreography.
Nomads toured extensively at home and abroad including festivals in the USA and the acclaimed Eurodanse Festival in France.
